Description

Fortis Mining and Engineering is currently seeking applicants for the following position for various locations in Saskatchewan. These will be contract positions and involve shiftwork.
These positions will promote a safe workplace by ensuring all work under Fortis' control is performed safely by adhering to the highest of industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- fabricates structural steel buildings
-installs reinforcing steel
-studies blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the lay out of work
-installs scaffolding, construction cranes and other hoisting equipment
- positions steel units, align holes and inserts temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts
- use of welding and cutting equipment in the fabrication and installation of structural components and their maintenance
- able to work in all weather conditions (extreme heat/cold/rain)
- may perform other related duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- working at heights
- physically fit
- workers must be hydrated
- physically demanding
- PPE - Hard Hat/Work Boots/Safety Glasses
IDEAL CANDIDATES:
- Experienced Apprentice or Journeyman
- Experience in construction
- Experience in building/constructing
- Experienced in underground and/or surface work
