Description

If you are an energetic, talented and highly motivated professional looking to provide leadership to a new and exciting program, this position may be for you.

The program provides community-based supports to persons who are repeat violent offenders with mental health issues.  This is a Provincial program with staff in Regina, Saskatoon, and Battlefords. The program works in a coordinated fashion with other partners involved in the Serious Violent Offenders Initiative.

Program Services/Activities:
Services align with four broad areas: assessment, acute crisis intervention, brief therapeutic intervention and special mental health evaluations.

You will work in a multi-task environment with changing demands and priorities, which requires the successful candidate to be responsible, flexible, adaptable and creative to cooperatively accomplish the goals and objectives of the CMHA Justice Community Support Program.  You will utilize your excellent interpersonal skills to develop good relationships and rapport with program staff, clients and their families, the general public and other service providers.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of, and experience in, the Mental Health System, and good knowledge of theories and intervention strategies and indicators and dynamics of addictions, domestic violence, poverty, mental health, disabilities, family relationships, abuse and neglect and their impacts.

Typically candidates will obtain the knowledge and abilities required for this position through a Masters Degree in Social Work, Human Justice or other directly related discipline.  Experience in Corrections or other closely related areas that provide experience with offenders is required.  Registration in the appropriate professional association is a definite asset.
