At Westcan, we have great facilities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories where we are recruiting for Safety Advisors who will be responsible to provide safety support and services throughout their region. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, duties include, but are not limited to, driver training and evaluations, regular customer site inspections, incident prevention, and emergency response. Safety Advisors will spend up to 80% of their time each week in the field ensuring a strong safety presence within the region.
Qualifications:
Class 1 drivers license with air endorsement is required
Three years related safety experience in the transportation industry
Overnight travel to various sites as required
Good working knowledge of the transportation industry and its operation with knowledge of a variety of commodities including dangerous goods
H2S and First Aid certifications are required
OH&S Certificate or courses is considered an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Proficient in a Windows system environment
Knowledge of the dispatch system, TMW, an asset
