Foot Care Nurse
The North Central Community Association is looking for a Foot Care Nurse to work in the North Central Health Office. This is a casual position with flexible daytime hours. The Health Nurse's main focus will be on scheduled foot care clients primarily seniors and diabetics. Assistance to cover the cost of foot care certification is available.
The Organization

Although economic and social inequalities still continue, North Central has risen above its adversity to become leader in social and economic reform.
Qualifications
Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse with knowledge in diabetes and hypertension.
Certificate in Foot Care / Podiatry (Assistance to cover training costs available)
Registered with SALPN / SRNA
Experience working with seniors
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated ability to be involved in community activities and an attitude of community awareness and concern
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of North Central is an asset
Valid Driver's License and a reliable vehicle
Duties
Monitoring of Diabetics and Hypertensives
Foot care, including padding and screening
Act as a referral to physicians when needed
Receive referrals from medical professionals
Discuss health issues with seniors at weekly community meals
Provide Home visits particularly regarding Foot Care
Provide health related information
Assist when necessary with seniors programming and special events
Building and maintaining clientele
Keeping client records
Other related duties as assigned
