Description

The position reports to the Program Coordinator or Executive Director and is responsible for assisting in the delivery & organization of programs already in place as well as providing input & suggestions for program development & evaluation.

Responsibilities:

Client Support

Establishes a working rapport with all clients in the program
Provides individual support & assistance with problem-solving & personal development as required
Facilitates & supervises client participation in job placement
Intervenes during crisis or critical incidents as appropriate
Ensures a safe & supportive group environment for all clients
Advocates in partnership with clients regarding specific identified needs
Transports clients as required

Implementation

Ensures & supports client participation in each part of their job placement
Participates in on-going program development & long range planning through staff meetings
Maintains a current knowledge of mental health interventions & issues
Performs other duties as required
Reports concerns or incidents

Administration

Completes monthly reports on the clients progress
Participates in agency activities as required

Budgeting

Keeps record of supplies needed for job placement
Maintains record of program expenses

Public Relations & Communications

Participates in public relations activities as required & represents the agency to other service providers, organizations & the general public
Provides program tours & orientations for new clients as required

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with special needs
Working knowledge of mental illness, psychiatric diagnosis, treatment methodologies including medications, group work, adult education methodologies, psycho-social rehabilitations & cognitive models
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Conflict resolution & crisis intervention skills
Class 5 Drivers License
Able to provide security clearance including for work with vulnerable people
