Reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Operations, this individual will assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily workload of the Regina laboratory. The successful candidate will be a high performance, team oriented and personable individual willing to engage in any activity required to get the job done. The individual will work with a materials testing team to ensure successful project completion while adhering to client requirements and timelines.
Responsibilities
Perform basic and highend materials testing in laboratory and field settings
Schedule, develop priorities, assign duties, delegate work, meet project deadlines and achieve necessary business outcomes
Develop, maintain and enforce appropriate quality control and quality assurance procedures including reviewing/reporting test results
Ensure compliance with OHS & internal safety standards, participate in the OHC.
Coordinate routine and unscheduled equipment acquisition and/or maintenance
Communicate/collaborate with internal/external stakeholders regarding the work program
Responsible for subject matter expertise in technical aspects of lab and field materials testing
Requirements
Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
Minimum 7 years experience within a materials testing laboratory (lab and field)
Enthusiastic individual with well developed interpersonal, motivational, organizational, and team skills
Attention to detail, multitasking, and problem solving skills
Knowledge of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) soil, asphalt and aggregate testing and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) concrete testing procedures
Knowledge of Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) certification and testing standards
Valid Saskatchewan class 5 drivers license
