Description

The role of the art studio facilitator is to work with elders and help create opportunities for self expression within the art studio.The facilitator will be involved in assisting elders with multiple physical and mental challenges to paint and draw.  Some individuals paint with mark making devises such as head bands, mouth brushes and other adapted equipment.  The student will also work with a diverse group of volunteers who are an integral part of the art studio program.  The person who works in the studio will require great leadership skills and must be able to motivate the artists.  They will be asked to handle a variety of challenging situations while inspiring and supporting elders as they build relationships.  The applicant must be registered full time in school and be going into school full time in September. Great opportunity for recreation, social work, therapy, and health field students. One position at Sherbrooke and one will be at Central Haven Special Care Home
