The Village Grenfell Child Care Center is now accepting resumes for a qualified Director to begin as soon as possible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum ECE III or working towards ECE III
- Minimum 2 years experience working in an early learning & child care setting
- Management experience is an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain as soon as possible.
- Working knowledge of The Child Care Act & The Child Care Regulations, 2001
- Proven track record of positive, nurturing staff-child interactions
- Experience working with non-profit Board of Directors is an asset
- Strong computer skills and current software knowledge is an asset
- Ability to work with people of different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Acceptable criminal record check, reference check and TB test
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member and leader by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis (requires strong oral and written communication skills) with Board, staff, and parents
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the development of the children enrolled
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current child development practices
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit qualified staff members and conduct regular performance reviews
- Maintain accurate record keeping required for centers operation
- Complete monthly financial requirements and work with bookkeeper to ensure completion of accurate monthly statements for review by Board of Directors
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to the "Child Care Regulations"
- Maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrate behaviour that is professional, ethical and responsible
