The Regina Work Preparation Centre (Work Prep) is a non-profit, charitable, community based organization helping people look for, find, and maintain work. We are looking for an energetic and creative people-person to be our Animateur.
This opportunity is for students returning to full time post-secondary training in the fall. The Animateur will celebrate the successes of Work Prep clients by collecting, cataloguing and disseminating their stories. This will include:
1. Identifying and Contacting Former Clients - Identifying previous Work Prep clients and inviting them to share their story of how being associated with Work Prep has impacted their lives.
2. Collecting and Producing Client Stories - Working with clients to produce their stories in a manner which is respectful of the client and meets the needs of Work Prep.
3. Sharing Client stories - developing a protocol for sharing client stories through various media including social media such as Facebook and YouTube. Producing and sharing those stories.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, highly organized, efficient, reliable, and personable individual and possess the following skills, abilities & knowledge:
Currently working towards a post-secondary degree or diploma
Ability to interview and gather information
Ability to relay personal stories in an engaging manner
Must possess strong interpersonal skills
Must be highly organized, self motivated and results oriented
Must be proficient and interested in using digital and social media
Knowledge and/or interest in the Regina Work Preparation Centre and the people we serve is an asset
Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule. Evening/weekend work may be required
Access to reliable transportation
This is a fulltime 14-week position. The wage rate is $15.00/hr.
