The Village is looking for a casual early childhood educator to assist staff with our everyday routine and programming when our full time staff are absent. You will be required to assist our staff with activities, daily routine, and daily cleaning. Having education is not required but will be an asset when applying, First Aid is also an asset.
Children'S Ages
- 5 years

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- First Aid Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- Food Safe Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
- Babysitting Certificate
Early Childhood Education Skills
- Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
- Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
- Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
- Assess the developmental level of children
- Knowledge of licensing regulations
Additional Skills
- Maintain day care supplies and equipment
- Assist in housekeeping duties
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
- Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
