Position Summary

Reporting directly to Canadian Operations Manager, the Lead Inspector will be responsible for the Weyburn lab operations and personals; perform grain grading using USDA and Canadian Grain Commission standards,  provide certification at on-site locations when requested; performs lab analytical tests; research and perform local business development and marketing at times.  Work with the Canadian Quality Manager to prepare the lab operations in Weyburn to meet ISO 17025 standards.
Duties & responsibilities (include but not limited to):
The Lead Inspector, Weyburn will
    Responsible for the Weyburn laboratory (WIA), which is to provide analytical grain testing services and inspect grain for grading /inspection purposes
    Assist the Canadian Quality Manager in establishing and following ISO/IEC 17025 quality system in WIA
    Responsible for Weyburn lab for leading staff, ensuring efficient operations, monitoring  sample flow, undertaking analysis, maintaining laboratory controls and procedures, troubleshooting and providing timely results and reports for the clients  
    Responsible  and accountable for the daily operations of the laboratory
    Grade grain using Canadian and US standards  and procedures
    On-site inspections, sampling and reporting
    Assist in providing training to newly hired or advancing graders
    Assist with sample preparation, sample management, sample inventory and sample disposal, as required  
    Remain current, regarding grading issues and updates.
    Precise reporting for grading and sending results to customer
    Manage own time and workload
