Description

ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. is an award-winning full-service consulting firm dedicated to working with all levels of government and the private sector to deliver planning and design solutions for transportation, water, land, and environmental projects.

Working from our Saskatoon office on a variety of Structural and Civil Projects in and around the Saskatoon area as part of a team of professional engineers and technologists, the incumbent will utilize their knowledge and experience to contribute to a variety of structural projects ranging from conceptual design through to construction services.  The incumbent for this role will have a strong interest and some direct hands-on experience with bridge and heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities:
Completion of various CAD drafting and computer-aided design tasks for the structural engineering group
Perform site as built surveys, design layout surveys, and assist senior crews as required
Quantity estimation and material specification
Responsible for production of contract drawings and input into the tender documents
Contribute to a strong team environment and work amongst other groups to provide clear and concise contract documents
Liaison with client and project management team
Review of Structural Shop Drawings

Requirements:
Completion of a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
Will have or will immediately obtain and maintain registration with SASTT
Accredited or eligible for accreditation with ASET
3 to 5 years experience
Field construction experience related to bridge and other heavy civil engineering projects
A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, spreadsheets, and MicroStation
Creative with good 3D visual and spatial contemplation
Highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable in bringing ideas and suggestions forward
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
