Description

The Maintenance Planner, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, provides quality job plans including site preparation, parts requirements, support equipment requirements and resources with the appropriate task sequencing necessary to allow for the efficient scheduling and execution of maintenance work on all site wide equipment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan all routine maintenance work orders, covering full scope of operations & maintenance, accommodating safety requirements.
- Plan rotating equipment packages as well as other craft and labour packages, as per department needs and rotating planning load.
- Develop comprehensive maintenance plans in accordance with site Safe Work Practices & Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines. Includes but not limited to safety requirements, manpower requirements, work sequencing, tool requirements, material requirements and entering requisitions for materials and services.
- Provide detailed cost estimates for planned maintenance activities and budget submissions.
- Responsible for maintaining the planner's backlog as determined by the site standard work process.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Journeyman Certificate; preferably in mechanical or pipefitting
- Minimum five years' experience in construction or mining
- 2-5 years planning experience
- Scheduling experience an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills working with Craft Team Members, Maintenance Specialists, and Engineering
- Technically competent
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills. Can effectively pull groups together and coordinate action plans to drive resolution
- Can manage evolving priorities and deliver on multiple commitments in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
