Description

The programmer is responsible for the detailed definition and understanding of business requirements as well as the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of systems to meet these requirements.

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in applying problem solving skills to ever-evolving business needs and will not shy away from learning new skills and applying them to provide excellent customer service to our business unit stakeholders.

In order to excel at this position, great communication skills are a necessity along with a team-player attitude and results orientation. Strong interest, or experience, in data-related development will be considered a great advantage, whether that be database design and development, business intelligence, data warehousing, or similar activities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with SQL and working directly with databases.

Experience in the following areas is not required, but will be considered an asset:
    Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (RPD, Answers, BI Apps, etc.)
    Informatica, IBM Data Manager or equivalent ETL development experience
    IBM Cognos BI (Framework Manager, Workspace Advanced, Studios, etc.)
    Business analysis skills (requirements elicitation, analysis and management)

The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma from a recognized university or technical school in computer science, ideally with a specialization in application development or business information systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Applicants with more experience may be considered for a Programmer Analyst or Systems Analyst position.
