The Maintenance Personnel be responsible for, directing and participating in the activities of the Maintenance Department in a manner that will ensure the hotel guests are provided with well-maintained rooms, along with a secure place to stay. He/she will monitor and properly maintain all equipment within the property.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure the safe and efficient running of all equipment, while maintaining the maintenance budget
Prioritize and carry out maintenance as requested by departments
Be knowledgeable about the consumption and conservation of energy in the property
Test fire alarms, emergency lighting etc. on a routine basis as required by federal, provincial and company standard
Liaise with the Manager regarding use of contractors within/outside the hotel, controlling expenditure and ensuring work meets brand/hotel management standards
Ensure the cost effective and hygienic removal of garbage from the hotel
To be on call to carry out emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours
To maintain records of repair work, test work and daily checks as required by federal, provincial and company standards.
Liaise closely with Guest Services and Housekeeping regarding off market rooms
Ensure the safe and professional completion of deep cleaning duties
Maintain the safe and hygienic up keep of the swimming pool using all chemicals in accordance with management/manufacturers instructions and following safe and cost effective cleaning procedures.

- Remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax floors
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on electrical systems
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
