Our busy medical clinic located in North West Regina requires a casual LPN to start as soon as possible. We are looking for someone to be available approximately 3 days a week.
This position is responsible for assisting the physician in the care of the patient by performing diagnostic procedures and/or medical treatments, and providing preventative medicine and education. You may also be required to assist with stocking supplies, booking tests and co-ordinating out-patient procedures for patients with physicians. The Nursing Station operates Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is a Union position.
Education and Experience:
Typically the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through a Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with 1-2 years related experience in a medical office environment. You must have a valid license with the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses. Experience with EMR and Accuro are an asset.
Duties & Responsibilities may include:
Performing various diagnostic procedures on patients (ECG, Spirometry, audiogram, blood pressure, etc)
Collecting lab specimens and tests as required or sending to appropriate lab for additional testing
Administering injections/vaccines as required including IM, SC, ID
Assist in preparing and stocking physicians offices and treatment rooms, providing wound care
Ordering general nursing supplies and standard medications
Chart all nursing procedures on patients EMR
Preparing surgical and suture trays as necessary and removing sutures and staples
Cleaning all surgical equipment and speculums and sterilization of same using autoclave or sterilization solution.
