Regina Transition House is seeking to fill the role of Domestic Violence Counsellor (DVC) on a full-time term basis.
This is a night position. The hours are 10 pm to 7:30 am
The sifts runs in a three on then three off rotation. Some staff meeting attendance is also required.
DVCs are responsible for the well-being and safety of the women and children staying at the shelter, for implementing services and programs provided by Transition House, maintaining appropriate client confidentiality, providing support counselling, advocacy, information, referral and transportation, assisting with household operations and maintenance, ensuring resident families protection and carrying out administrative functions. DVCs provide practical support to members of the community who are seeking safety or information.
DVCs will work closely with all agency staff to promote client safety, empowerment, facilitate change and healing in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe. DVCs are expected to adhere to the Regina Transition House Values, Code of Ethics, and Guiding Principles.
Night duties will include some housekeeping and sanitizing duties.
