Description

The Welding Engineering position is responsible for supporting the ongoing execution, refinement of and continuous improvement (CI) activities associated with welding needs within the Operations business functions within MHPSC.  

Key activities of this role include, but are not limited to:
1.Promote a safe working environment.
2.Proactively seek out welding process changes and enhancements that shall eliminate waste and excess costs in the MHPSC business processes, ensuring execution at optimal cost and quality levels.
3.Support Manufacturing Engineering by providing detailed reviews of Manufacturing Process Plans with a focus on welding process capability and welding equipment utilization to ensure a high level of quality and productivity.
4.Actively monitor and develop welding process control parameters to define production quality and productivity levels.
5.Proactively pursues welding process improvements including implementing process changes and recommending consumable and equipment advancements.
6.Work closely with support groups include Quality, Maintenance and Purchasing to ensure the process, product and equipment are meeting expectations.
7.Actively monitor and report on weld quality and take immediate actions to mitigate risk.

Requirements:
A.Demonstrated commitment to safety.
B.Welding Engineering Degree with 5-10 years of related experience.
C.Proven ability to plan, monitor and improve manufacturing processes and controls.
D.Experience implementing Continuous Improvement and effective Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations.
E.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, manage projects work effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
