Description

The Income Support Administrator is responsible for administering & delivering income support program for Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Administrator will provide services required to ensure income support recipients receive regular, timely & accurate support payments in adherence to legislation, regulations & policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Be Commissioner of Oath for the First Nation & sign all documents as requested by First Nation and/or band membership.
-Be able to identify what information is confidential & sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
-Be able to review & interpret applicable legislation & policies as well as compliance with all internal policies & procedures of  Kahkewistahaw First Nation Social Development Policy.
-Provide a current Drug Screening Results & Criminal Record Check.
-Possess a valid Driver's License & a reliable vehicle.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Must have excellent written & oral communication skills to effectively deal with clients, membership, staff & Chief & Council & Social Development Committee.
-Have ability to work independently with minimum supervision & work in team atmosphere.
-Possess effective interviewing & general office techniques.
-Possess effective stress management skills.
-Possess working knowledge of various computer software including database systems, spreadsheets & other various software; word processing software.
-Knowledge of economic, environmental & social issues, definite asset
-Knowledge of first nation culture; tradition & language, definite asset
-Ability to manage confidential information according to program practices & necessity.
-Experience & operate computer program AIS for Income Support
-Possess ability to operate Computer & be familiar in word processing, spreadsheet & data base software.
-Possess excellent communications skills both oral & written in order to effectively deal with Portfolio Coucillor, Membership Committee, Band members, co-workers & external contacts in a cordial manner.
