The Glen at Crossmount is a one-of-a-kind agricultural tourism destination in Saskatchewan and home to the Crossmount Cider Company. With 40 acres of land, a 15 acre apple orchard, and an all-season greenhouse surrounded by housing, the Glen is a unique outdoor experience in the province of Saskatchewan.
As the Nursery and Field Technician, you will manage the greenhouse operations, plant propagation, planting, and grounds maintenance to ensure lawns, gardens, and plants are attractive and healthy. This position will be responsible for the care of plants in gardens, lawns, greenhouse,orchards and other green areas. In addition to applying pesticides and fertilizers as necessary, the successful candidate will ensure the proper pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs to maintain a pleasant appearance and plant health.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have experience working with caliper trees, tree planting, shrubs, and perennials
Knowledge of landscaping techniques and practices
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction
Knowledge of handling chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides
Ability to read instructions, warning labels; instructions to store fungicides and pesticides; job instructions and procedures may be required
Ability to execute multiple job tasks to meet various project deadlines
Ability to lift and work in diverse weather conditions, i.e. wet and/or humid conditions; hot or cold weather
Must enjoy working outdoors and be physically fit
Must have own transportation & be able to work flexible hours including weekends.
Previous greenhouse work experience is an asset
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
