Description

Reporting to the Director of Production, this position will be responsible for promoting the prevention aspect in the plant in order to make the environment a safe and healthy workplace. It will be responsible for:
Effective planning and organization of prevention in OH&S
Working together with all stakeholders (management, human resources, supervisors, maintenance and production staff) to identify, correct, and control the risk of work accidents and occupational injuries
Evaluate existing safety policies and ensure compliance
Provide effective interventions to achieve accident reduction targets
Interacting with employees and visit production sites for safety auditing
This position will also be required to coordinate OHS training and meetings of health and safety committees. It will be required to develop and support training in production, OH&S management, implementation and/or policy implementation, OH&S procedures, research and legislative requirements.

Requirements
The completion of post-secondary education in a recognized Occupational Health and Safety course or equivalent education; relevant experience may also be considered.
A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulatory requirements and have experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk analysis, audits, and developing training materials.
The incumbent must demonstrate both written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of software (Excel, Word, etc.) required
Travel will be required for this position
