Under the direction of the Director of Health, this position is responsible for all aspects of Community Health Nursing, including planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation, as well as the delivery of nursing functions and services in accordance with the policies of FNIHB and those of Thunderchild Department of Health. The Community Health Nurse (CHN) delivers the primary functions of community health nursing and administration, prevention, screening, immunization and communicable disease control.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Community Health Nursing immunization, TB screening, BBP/communicable disease, prenatal/postnatal/infant assessments, minor emergent treatment, referrals;
Community Health Education promote immunization strategy, communicable disease prevention, prenatal/postnatal care, breastfeeding promotion, prevention & awareness activities for daycare, school & community;
Records Management;
Supplies & Equipment maintenance;
Reporting & Accountability.
Essential Skills
- Job task planning and organizing
- Computer use
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
- Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
