Responsibilities include:
Actively demonstrate a commitment to Safety and Environmental stewardship
On a short, medium and long term basis, monitor and report on mill performance and project work
Perform metallurgical accounting on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
Apply investigative and continuous improvement principles at personal, group and operational levels
Plan and conduct both metallurgical and/or in-plant test work to assist in process improvement, troubleshooting and process upset investigations
Develop expertise in various unit operations (such as acid leaching, solvent extraction, water treatment) and provide training to others
Coordinate activities, information, materials and/or resources within areas of responsibility to meet deadlines and project requirements
Provide technical support to all mill departments (Operations, Environment, Radiation Protection, etc)
Liaise with external resources as required (vendors, Engineering and Projects Department in Saskatoon)
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
Bachelors degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan
Minimum of 5 years experience in mineral and/or chemical processing
Working knowledge of process design and metallurgical unit operations
Ability to provide a positive leadership style and engage resources at all levels of the organization, including operators, tradespeople, peers and management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to ensure clarity amongst a diverse stakeholder group
Comfortable working in an industrial plant and laboratory environment
Strong computer skills in MS Office suite ad ability to learn other applications as required
Work Location & Schedule: McClean Lake site - 7 day in/out work schedule 77 hours per week
