Camp Monahan is looking for an assistant caretaker to take care of the grounds for the summer camping season. The successful applicant will have good organizational skills, work well under pressure, and have experience with electrical, plumbing, and sewage systems. The assistant caretaker is under the direction and supervision of the camp caretaker. Assist in opening the camp in May including start-up plumbing and water wells, test sewage systems, open all buildings, preparing swimming pool and maintenance as required, testing swimming pool plumbing and filtration systems, mowing of grass, and general upkeep and duties as required. Assist in preparing Camp Monahan for rental groups and ensuring proper clean up once they have departed.
This position answers directly to Camp Caretaker. Work closely with the Building and Grounds comittee, Camp Director, and Executive Director.
A valid drivers license, Pool Operators Course, and Criminal record check are all required. First aid and CPR is considered an asset.
All qualifications and certificates are required to be submitted at the time of hire.
Hours of work: 32 hours/week.
Wages: Include room and board and holiday pay.
