The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division serves approximately 1,280 students and is comprised of five schools in four communities with Central Office located in Weyburn, SK. CFO duties to commence June 1, 2015 or as mutually agreed upon.
Reporting to the Director of Education, the CFO oversees the overall management of the business affairs of the school division. The successful applicant will establish priorities and objectives for the effective management of financial and material resources aligning with the divisions strategic plan while compliant with the legislative provisions of The Education Act, 1995 (110(1). The CFO is an integral part of the senior administrative leadership team, delivering measurable results aligned with the Board of Educations mission, vision and strategic directions. The CFO will possess the leadership skills, understanding and confidence to maximize the potential of the school divisions business team.
This position will provide an exciting challenge for a candidate who wishes to work in a progressive, supportive educational setting. The ideal candidate will have:
An understanding and commitment to Catholic education
A professional designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA or equivalent)
Post-secondary Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Commerce (at a minimum)
At least 3 years of experience with demonstrated success in a senior finance leadership role in an organization with a $15M budget or more
Eligibility for membership in Saskatchewan Association of School Business Officials (SASBO)
Knowledge of best practices in educational finance with demonstrated exemplary administrative and supervisory experience
Knowledge of facility and capital planning, student transportation, payroll, accounts payable and general organization operations (Knowledge of SRB program would be an asset)
Knowledge of results-based and policy driven governance would be an asset
