Description

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Administer CLBPT tests to assess the language skills of eligible clients in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing
- Provide clients the means to recognize their level of English language proficiency
- Liaise with the applicable staff to ensure the accuracy of data input according to CIC and IWS requirements
- Liaise with other Language Assessors and the entire administrative team to ensure effective client outcomes vis--vis the mandate of the LARC
- Attend relevant meetings, training programs and conferences to maintain and enhance skills level
- Support the successful implementation of the LARC Service Model and ensure the maintenance of the operating standards and models

Qualifications & Other Requirements:

- TESL Accreditation required (preferably with experience teaching adult ESL)
- CLBPT Trained and Certified with experience or conditional offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of CLBPT Training
- Demonstrated experience conducting interviews/assessment in the field of Adult Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of the process of second language acquisition
- Knowledge of the various English Language Training Programs for newcomers in Saskatoon and a good understanding of the eligibility requirements for acceptance into these programs
- Excellent English communication skills, oral and written
- Other language skills, in addition to English,  will be an asset
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Applications
- Strong teamwork, organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Sensitivity to the diverse need of adult learners and the multicultural community
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends as required
