Description

The MEND Program Assistants primary responsibilities include assisting the MEND mind and nutrition leader(s) to successfully deliver the MEND theory sessions, healthy growth checks and physical activity sessions.
The MEND Program Assistant will report directly to the MEND Program Manager.
Main Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including, but not limited to the following:
This position will be contracted on an hourly casual basis with established weekly hours.
Required to deliver the MEND program(s), which include:
-Required to attend all MEND sessions.
-Assisting the MEND Theory and Exercise Leader in all aspects of delivery of the MEND Program.
-Assist in the accurate collection and recording of data at two Healthy Growth Check sessions (measurements of height; weight; waist circumference; fitness test).
-Required to attend the MEND theory training and pass the post training assessment.
Experience    
-Having an experience in one of the following areas: sport, recreation, physical activity and/or active play. (asset)
-Working with groups and engaging children and their families
Other factors    
-Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal records check (including vulnerable sector) prior to start of employment.
-First Aid / Safe Food Handling Certificates an asset
-Enthusiastic and empathetic
-Organized and punctual
-Be able to work in collaboration with the rest of the MEND Delivery team
