Reporting the Shaft Supervisor, the Hoist Operator will ensure safe hoisting operations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The hoist operator is responsible for safe and efficient operation of all equipment related to the hoist plant.  This includes all primary and auxiliary equipment for both the hoists and winches.
- The hoist operator is responsible for understanding and following all Ministry of Labour regulations and requirements which include:
- Attending yearly hoist operator physical assessments
- Utilizing all regulations and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) surrounding sound operating practises
- Documenting all required operational information into the ministry log-books and company reporting forms
- Responsibilities in support of the mine safety / rescue plans during emergency situations
- Liaison between shift supervisors, the crews and security
- Ensure that all direct reports in the workplace take responsibility for aspects of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment over which they have control including adherence to all OHS&E requirements applicable to DMC Mining Services
- Annual medical testing as required by the Ministry

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- 2 - 5 years hoist operating experience
- Valid hoist operators certificate - preferably Saskatchewan certification
- Strong team skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
