Library Clerk/Educational Assistant is responsible to the principal & split .9 & .1
Duties/Responsibilities-Library Clerk (.9)
Assist teachers &/or students in the location & use of Resource Centre materials
Assist in public relations, including planning & implementing visual displays & programs in the library through appropriate use of bulletin boards & other spaces.
Maintain computer-based circulation & cataloguing protocols
Process resource material (shelving, filing, laminating, etc.)
Promote the vision, mission, principles & goals of the Chinook School Division
Duties/Responsibilities-Educational Assistant(.1)
Willingness to meet the health & hygiene needs of children as required
Work one on one with students & within a classroom setting
Based on needs of individual students, provide individual students with assistance in speech, motor, and language development and social & life skills
Work as part of a team in development & implementation of Individual Improvement Plan
Education, Qual., Knowledge & Exp.
Grade 12 Diploma
Proficiency in use of computer such as word processing, database systems
Related training or experience in the library field would be an asset
Ability to do medium work (exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, & /or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, &/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
Education Assistant cerification or early childhood training
Successful experiences working with children
Certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
Certification or training in Control Theory
Excellent communication skills & ability to work collaboratively within a school team are critical
Significant knowlege of community & childrens' developmental needs
Willingness to attend to a broad range of issues, including student personal care
Ability to work effectively as a member of a tem
Ability to work with individuals(parents, teachers, administrators, specialist)& agencies to most effectivey support special needs students
