What will you be working on?
* Troubleshoot issues that arise on mine automation projects related to machine design, hydraulic systems, or other mechanical subdisciplines.
* Follow the Capital Project Management process on assigned capital projects to ensure proper practices are applied to the allocation and spending of capital on assigned automation projects. Develop specifications for project equipment and design information required to complete the detailed design phase. Develop schedules, budgets, and project charters at the outset of new projects and ensure complete and thorough documentation throughout the duration and closeout of those projects.
* Act as a technical liaison between Mosaic and consulting companies. Review and approve design drawings to ensure compliance with Mosaic processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical insight from area of expertise in a team setting to help develop and progress the mine automation project portfolio.
What is required for this role?
* Bachelor Degree in Engineering. Major in Mechanical or Industrial Systems.
* Registered with APEGS, P. Eng strongly preferred. Provincial Underground Supervision Certification would be an asset.
* Minimum 5-10 years experience in an underground mine environment, preferably potash mining.
* Experience with machine design and hydraulic system design required.
* AutoCAD, experience with 3D modeling software (Inventor or Solidworks), MS Office, Maximo, Microsoft Project, Visio, SAP
* Accountable for timely completion of assigned engineering projects and technical input within the Automation group
