Description

Job Responsibilities
-    Provides statistical and financial information to management and assists in the interpretation of relevant information for operational decision making
-    Processes Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
-    Revises and reconciles various accounting records, including general ledger accounts
-    Prepares Journal Entries and monthly GST/PST remittances
-    Ensures data is collected, retained and entered into the correct application and provides comparative analysis of operation information and financial information for budget control
-    Assists in the preparation of capital and operating budgets, provides analysis of actual results in comparison to budget, and provides annual comparative cost information as required
-    Gathers data for internal and external audit requests, assists in the implementation of audit recommendations, and identifies potential control risks
-    Reviews processes, standardizes procedures and implements lean accounting practices where possible
-    Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies
-    Four-year Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting
-    Working towards or eligible to enrol in a professional accounting designation
-    Minimum three years experience in collecting, analyzing and reporting on accounting information in an operational environment
-    Must possess considerable knowledge of accounting standards, cost accounting practices, and budgeting procedures
-    Knowledge of lean accounting would be an asset
-    Familiarity with the principles and practices of statistical analysis and operations research would be an asset
-    Be an enthusiastic self-starter with an action-orientated approach to learning and professional development
-    Must possess excellent Microsoft Excel skills
-    Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
