Responsibilities:  
Job Summary: Cook 1 is responsible for all items listed below as well as proficiency in grilling, saut, broiler, excellent knife cuts, etc.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
Keeps the kitchen clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and assisting the utility workers when needed.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
Assists in any task the chef assigns.
Able to run a line in the absence of a chef supervisor.
Understands all stations in the kitchen and can jump in any spot at any time.
Provides friendly and helpful customer service.
Cooks and otherwise prepares foods according to recipes.
Knowledgeable in methods of food preparation, cooking, and sizes of foods to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner.
Tests food by tasting and smelling.
Cuts, trims, bones, and carves meats and poultry for cooking.
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
Uses correct portions when cutting, preparing, and serving items.
Ensures proper temperatures of all foods at all times.

Qualifications:
Must have certification in a provincially recognized Food Safety Program
Minimum 2 years experience.
The ability to work a line in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to read and follow recipes.
Must be able to understand and follow directions from the Manager.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
A background check is required for this position.
