The Department of Curriculum Studies, University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a term position at the Assistant Professor level commencing July 1, 2015 with a focus on teacher education specifically in the area of Science Education.
As a key member of an innovative and dynamic College, the successful candidate will focus on teaching and learning at the undergraduate level in science learning at either grade K-8 or 9-12 levels, preferably both. The candidate should have, or be near the completion of, a doctoral degree in an appropriate specialization, and possess the ability to work across disciplines; a candidate with a Masters and appropriate/relevant experience will be considered. In addition, all faculty are expected to conduct research, provide service and contribute to collegial processes in the College of Education.
Applicants must have relevant teaching experience at the school and/or post-secondary level (Preference is given to applicants with teaching experiences at the early childhood to grade 12 levels). Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in Science education and education across the Faculty. Opportunities may exist to pursue a research program relevant to Science education. In addition, applicants will demonstrate the ability and expertise to work with community partners in Science education.
Salary bands for this post are as follows: Assistant Professor - $86,844 $104,357; Associate Professor - $104,357 - $121,871 and Professor - $121,871 - $142,303.
