Description

Wakamow Valley Authority is looking for a self-starter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a combination of technical training and experience in park/building maintenance, as well as supervising staff.  As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing or executing assignments and the coordination and completion of the day-to-day maintenance activities of Wakamow s facilities including the campground, rental facilities, natural greenspaces, and special events while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.  This includes ensuring that all staff is fully trained on operations and safety and  is properly orientated to their job.  Candidate will be responsible for planning all scheduled maintenance requirements and ensuring that resources are available.  

For six months of the year you would be responsible for the supervision of staff and/or external contractors, ensuring that all work is completed as required.  This includes responsibility for the maintenance of all equipment, including developing and overseeing day-to-day maintenance of equipment, recommending outsourcing for major repairs and recommending long-term capital purchases.

For six months you would be responsible, but not limited to, the execution of general maintenance and cleaning of facilities, including setup/takedown of rental facilities, snow removal, minor repairs, etc..

Ideal candidates will have a Grade 12 education or equivalent, combined with experience in maintenance and repairs, three (3) years of which have been as a Parks Maintenance Manager/Supervisor; knowledge of horticulture, pest management, pruning, landscaping and facility cleaning/maintenance and OH&S. Ability to conduct minor repairs and general maintenance of small tools and motors.  Ability to work outside and conduct manual labour.  Ability to conduct basic administrative process and develop reports related to the work.
