ELECTORAL OFFICER, DEPUTY ELECTORAL OFFICER AND LEGAL COUNSEL FOR FSIN ELECTIONS
These positions are contract positions for FSIN elections being held on October 28 & 29, 2015 and will require a commitment of approximately 7 days between September 28th and October 30th, 2015.
ELECTORAL OFFICERS will be responsible to ensure that the provisions of the FSIN Election Act are implemented.
The Electoral Officers shall have the following qualifications:
-experience working with First Nations and/or First Nation organizations;
-experience in conducting elections
-be able to chair meetings as required
-must be a member of a First Nation signatory to the FSIN Convention
-experience in mediating conflict
LEGAL COUNSEL will provide legal advice to the Electoral Officers and the Credentials Committee on procedural or other matters, as may be required.
The Legal Counsel shall have the following qualifications:
-be a practicing lawyer in good standing with the Law Society with a minimum of five years call to the Bar;
-current experience working directly with First Nation Bands and/or First Nation Organizations;
-current experience working directly with or be familiar with the relevant legislation, policies, and governing structures;
-strong research, analytical, project management and facilitation skills as demonstrated through work experience; and
-experience and/or training in conflict resolution.
