David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a large local public accounting firm. We are looking for a designated accountant who is entrepreneurial, wants to build a network of professional clientele and takes pride in delivering great client service, while helping clients manage risk and be more efficient.

The Role:

Working with clients and your internal engagement teams to provide audit services, you will be interested in growing as a designated accountant and taking pride in delivering great client service
Examine financial and accounting records
Identify, assess and test internal controls
Make judgments on estimates and assumptions made by management
Verify and test financial statements
Oversee inventory counts
Work as part of an audit team
Be comfortable asking client's a range of questions
Help build the audit practice, along with your team

The Ideal Candidate:

Undergraduate degree in Accounting
Canadian CA, CMA or CGA designation is required or almost completed
Understanding of Canadian GAAP and IFRS
Minimum 3 years of audit experience in a professional services firm  
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Proven leadership, organizational, facilitation and presentation skills
Ability to work on multiple engagements at the same time
SOX and US GAAP experience would be an asset
Some travel required

Compensation:

Salary range commensurate with experience
