Description

Position Overview:
As the Plant Operator at our grain and crop inputs facility in Kindersley, you will be responsible for safe and efficient hands-on  duties including operating loading and receiving machinery, providing customer service and support, and maintaining the facility and grounds.

Principal Accountabilities:
80% - Plant Operation and Risk management

20% - Safety Compliance

Qualifications:
Required:
    High school diploma or equivalent work experience
    Must be able to work in an environment with varying temperatures, including working partially outdoors, indoors, and periodically in dusty environments
    Ability to perform physical tasks that require climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling from heights in varying climate and environment conditions
    Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team
    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with strong a customer focus
    Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills
    Must be able to work flexible work hours throughout the year including weekends and holidays when needed
    Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis

Preferred:
    Related post-secondary education or training
    Previous work experience within a manufacturing or a plant setting
    Proven ability to manage compliance with Environment, Health & Safety and Operations standards and regulations
    Familiarity with a computerized mechanical system
    Valid drivers license
    Knowledge of inventory control, quality management, operating efficiency and budget management
    Agricultural experience or specialized knowledge of grain handling and crop input products
    Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, service, and troubleshoot machinery
    Previous knowledge of SAP

 - Weigh and record type of grain received or in storage
 - Record deliveries of grain
 - Conduct tests to determine grade and quality of grain
 - Arrange for transport or storage of grain
