The responsibilities of the Job Coach are to work collaboratively with the school team, the participant and the employer to provide ongoing supports that result in positive work outcomes. The Job Coach will be aware of and follow the guidelines and appropriate terminology for the portrayal of persons with disabilities and be familiar with the philosophy and values of supported employment.
The responsibilities include:
To participate with the school team and each youth in the program and implementation of individual growth plans (eIIP) behaviour management interventions, and the individual crisis management plans.
To provide positive role modelling to youth, to conduct themselves as a caring adult authority figure, and to make decisions in the best interest of the youth.
To develop and implement skill acquisition training plans.
To follow a program of service delivery designed to reduce individual dependency on the job coach.
To ensure timely and accurate information on a daily basis concerning the progress and the needs and behaviours of youth and to follow ENYR policy on reporting and documenting critical information.
To learn and operate by the agencys philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
The Job Coach will have a combination of education and experience related to working with youth and will possess personal attributes that facilitate the development of trusting and caring relationships with youth. Knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and beliefs is an asset. Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check and a valid class 5 drivers license are required.
This position is a temporary/full time to the end of June. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day/35 hours per week.
