SAKIMAY FIRST NATIONS RETAIL ENTITIES

Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, the
Bookkeeper is a support position responsible for data entry and recording of financial
information on behalf of the retail entities. The Bookkeeper must ensure accuracy and
consistency in the processing of physical and digital information. The Bookkeeper must be
able to comply with occasional overtime requirements and seasonal fluctuations in workload.
THE BOOKKEEPER MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
A) Successful completion of a two (2) year post-secondary program in accounting and a minimum of two (2)
year experience in the accounting field (SAGE ACCPAC).
B) A willingness to take job related training as provided by the employer.
C) Skills to operate a computerized accounting program and Microsoft office systems.
D) Strong oral and written communication skills to assertively yet courteously deal with coworkers, customers,
vendors and management, in a fast-paced, service-based environment.
E) The ability to multitask, physically and mentally, in a service related environment.
F) The ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
G) The ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and promote co-operation and teamwork within the work
environment.
H) Demonstrate time management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
I) Demonstrate punctuality, reliability and dependability.
J) The ability to manage confidential information.
K) Submit a Criminal Records Check prior to employment.
L) Submit a pre-employment drug screen.
M) The ability to be bonded.
N) A valid drivers license and vehicle would be considered an asset, and meet insurability requirements to
operate band owned vehicles.
O) Provide three (3) written references
