Description

Altern Properties is a growing, entrepreneurial property management company that is committed to providing residents with a quality living experience by offering exceptional service and premium products in desirable locations. Our apartments for rent in Regina have a focus on introducing new, modern communities to the Regina rental market.  We currently manage close to 1,000 multi-family apartment units in Regina with planned expansion throughout Western Canada.

We are seeking a full-time permanent Property Accountant to start work immediately with our growing team. As an Altern employee, you would be working in a challenging and rewarding workplace and will have the opportunity to share in the benefits on being part of a growing business.

Key responsibilities include the following:
    Perform the day-to-day and month-end accounting processes
    Ensure rental charges, security deposits and receipts are properly recorded in the property management and accounting software
    Reconcile cash receipts to rent rolls and generate accounts receivable reporting for management review
    Ensure appropriate lease agreements are in place for all tenants
    Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, review income statement accounts for reasonableness, and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting
    Ensure monthly journal entries and expense accruals are completed accurately and in a timely manner

The successful candidate will possess the following:
    3-5 years of accounting experience with a post-secondary degree or diploma
    Knowledge of accounting principles
    Experience in the property management industry would be an asset
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    High level of initiative and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
