Potzus Ltd is one of Saskatchewans largest construction companies. Day to day operations include earth moving, site prep, aggregate production, paving, and excavation.
We are seeking applications for an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment Officer. Main duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to:
-Maintaining, developing and administering all HSE protocols
-Management of all HSE company records
-Responsible for controlling all aspects of COR certification, including yearly internal audit
-Coordinate, track, and schedule all employee training with regards to First Aid, Power Mobile, OH&S and HCSAS training courses
-Accident and near miss incident investigation and documentation
-Monitor and maintain our SGI Carrier Profile and update the ISNetworld account as required
-Travel to multiple worksites and conduct regular inspections
-Stock, order, and distribute safety equipment and PPE
-Working with Supervisors on the creation and identification of JHAs and JSAs
The ideal candidate will have:
-CRSP, CSO, HSA or equivalent or combination of education and experience
-An in depth knowledge of provincial OH&S and WCB legislation
-A minimum of three-five years experience as a Safety Officer in a heavy construction environment preferably one with COR certification
-Strong working knowledge of MS Office
-The capability to demonstrate, inform and train supervisors and staff in proper safety processes
-The ability to travel is a necessary requirement
-Able to work independently and as a part of the management team
