As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for:
*Ensuring the satisfaction of both wholesale and do-it-yourself customers while building and maintaining positive long-term relationships
*Handling store merchandising, stock rotation and replenishment, and housekeeping functions
*Selling! Including assisting in the development of the stores annual sales plan
*Handle the stores accounts receivable function
*Assist with implementation of consumer promotional events
*Supervise, direct, and participate in the hiring and performance management of all staff
*Participate in the training of store staff member
*Handle direct volume consumer sales
*Review and authorize refunds and cheque payments
*Assist with timekeeping and ensure that adequate staff is on hand at all times
*Maintain the store wall coverings book library
*Manage store inventory
*Balance and close out cash registers, and make the daily bank deposit
Requirements:
*Minimum High School education or equivalent (priority to candidates with a Bachelors Degree in business or related field)
*3+ years Customer Service experience with a background in retail sales (preferably in paint or hardware)
*Experience in a Leadership or Assistant Manager role is an asset
*Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Exposure to non-selling activities such as financial reports, credit and accounts receivable performance, scheduling and inventory control is an asset
*Excellent wholesale and contractor customer service skills, including problem solving and experience handling customer complaints
*Valid drivers license & personal transportation are required
