Description

We are presently seeking a full-time medical office assistant for a busy specialists office.  The position is temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent.   The office is open Monday to Friday, closed on weekends and holidays.  The hours may vary.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
Perform general office duties such as open and close clinic, answer phones, greet and log in patients at arrival, input patient demographics into the Accuro Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, patient bookings, medical records management, transcription, MCIB billing submission, third party billing, and customer service.
Order diagnostic tests
Explain diagnostic testing, medications and physician instructions to patients
Other special projects as needed

Qualifications:
Medical Office Assistant certificate is required.
2+ years experience in a medical office setting.
Preference will be given to a candidate with surgical booking experience.
Working knowledge of the medical referral process and the Saskatchewan Healthcare system, familiarity with Accuro EMR system, medical terminology and transcription, billing diagnostic and service codes, along with Microsoft Office is required.
Strong work ethic, dependable, reliable, self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Exceptional attention to detail as well as ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all records.
Must possess a positive attitude.
Demonstrated communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure, with multiple changing priorities.
Time management skills.
