Description

An employee-owned, Canadian company, Associated Engineering provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors.

We are currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be involved in studies, reports, assessments, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of specifications, development of costs estimates, and inspection of building mechanical systems. You will also be involved in the design and preparation of tender documents for building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, piping, and material handling systems. Working with the Building Mechanical Group, typical projects include buildings (industrial, commercial, municipal), waste and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, piping, and conveying systems.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, such as National Plumbing Code, ASHRAE and NFPA Standards
- Experience on industrial, commercial, and municipal projects
- Experience in water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and process piping design is an asset
- Field experience in construction, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical systems is an asset
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices
- LEED accreditation is an asset
- Knowledge of electrical and structural systems is an asset
- Excellent command of English language, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities
- Committed team player
