KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete Canadian Red Cross orientation processes
Provide injury prevention education to children and youth with a particular emphasis on reaching communities that have less access to programming. This responsibility will require a willingness to communicate with and coordinate delivery in cooperation with agencies who host summer children programs in rural and remote locations within the Prince Albert and Area Outreach territory. Occasional overnight trips will be necessary.
Schedule, advertise and deliver babysitting courses in the Prince Albert Red Cross office
Promote National Water Safety Week and National Lifejacket water safety campaigns
Work with current partners i.e. Prince Albert and Area Parachute, LifeSaving Society, Canada Coast Guard, Canadian Cancer Society, National, Provincial and Region Parks to promote safe water activity and boating practices.
Cover reception office duties when full time staff are on vacation
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably but not necessarily have Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Status
Babysitter Facilitator Certification (provided to successful candidates upon hiring)
Current Red Cross Standard First Aid/CPR B will be provided if necessary
MUST BE A RETURNING STUDENT IN-POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION.
Excellent communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License
Must have demonstrated ability to independently schedule, deliver and report on activities within job description.
WORKING CONDITIONS 35-hour work week, Occasional requirement to work overtime hours, often with short notice, Domestic travel will be required.
