Northlands College is a leading employer in northern Saskatchewan for both instructional and non-instructional jobs and careers. As part of the instructional team for this 2 year program the instructor will provide lecture, lab, and field instruction to students; keep inventory of equipment; organize and supervise student field trips; and participate in course material development. Course expertise is required in the following areas: mining/milling processes, ventilation, ground control, mine safety, mine surveying, mining physics, exploration and mining geology, mathematics, and AutoCAD.
Additional responsibilities include: classroom management, taking attendance and submitting it to the Program Assistant on a regular basis, monitoring student progress and submitting reports to the Program Coordinator on a regular basis, setting up and monitoring work placements and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering, minimum of ten years of experience in the mining industry including underground experience and strong communication and interpersonal skills. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered
