Description

The Visitor Services Counselor will be part of the Tourism Regina team and will work alongside Regina Regional Opportunities Commission's (RROC) tourism division and gain experience in visitor and community relations, and destination and tourism product marketing. As this position is seasonal, ideally the candidate can begin work on May 4, 2015 until August 28, 2015.

The scope of work included with this position requires and is not limited to:

- Engage the public to provide information about Regina & recommendations for activities, experiences, and events
- Research to support the RROC and Tourism Regina website(s) & social media
- Respond to requests & coordinate distribution of information for visitors
- General reception duties, including answering the phones and responding to visitor requests at the Tourism Regina office
- Manage tourism material inventory
- Other duties as required.

- Driver's license and vehicle is desired but not required.  Candidate will be reimbursed for all approved expenses.

To be eligible, the student must:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Have been registered as full time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to who refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
