We are looking for a full-time Job Developer/Vocational Resource Trainer for a new program in Regina. The Alternative Vocational Education Program (AVEP), is being developed to meet the needs of male and female clients with sensory and communication issues as well as supervision needs. These clients will receive vocational training and vocational programming that promotes customized work experiences with ongoing supports for the client.
The Job Developer and Vocational Resource Trainer will be responsible for acquiring and developing community work contracts and placements for the participants in the program. They will also administer vocational assessments, facilitates the development of Individualized Vocational Plans, and tracks participant progress throughout the school year. He/she is responsible for enhancing community relations, communication between clients, businesses, and employers. The position provides opportunities for residents to experience a variety of work related projects, services, and operations.
Education:
- Life skills training and/or teacher assistant certificate or certificate related to youth education would be an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years experience in child and youth care, vocational programs for youth with special needs or working with volunteer groups.
- Staff must hold a class 5 novice 2 or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
