Employees of this class perform varied and complex clerical work of a responsible nature requiring a thorough knowledge of all library procedures as well as those to which they are being assigned. Employees in this class are usually given detailed instructions upon being assigned to their duties. They are required to exercise initiative in determining the sequence in which tasks are to be performed and the work methods employed.
InterLibrary Loans:
Processes incoming and outgoing interlibrary loan requests.
Sends, receives, posts, and processes Interlend requests and RSS.
Retrieves material to fill requests from Interlend and RSS.
Prepares interlibrary loan statistical reports.

Required knowledge, abilities and skills:
Accuracy and attention to detail. An understanding of various computer software desirable. A good understanding of the operation of common office equipment. The ability to solve problems and make decisions in accordance with standard policies and procedures. The ability to communicate. Ability to adapt to change. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Initiative in organizing work and in completing assigned tasks.
Required Experience and Training:
Grade 12 followed by a standard commercial course (such as Data Processing), or Grade 12 and several years of work experience.
