Description

Spesmed Corp.provides specialist medical services in N.Battleford.It also provides Medical Affairs Management for the Prairie North Health Region in N.Battleford, Lloydminster,& Meadow Lake Hospitals & Primary Care sites. Responsible for contributing to the health of our community by providing quality services in a compassionate & cost-effective manner.Provide direction & leadership to the Medical Affairs Dept.Serve as an essential link between Senior Medical Officers & medical & nursing staff to promote & enhance good communications & a positive working relationship. Requirements:
-Experience in developing, initiating, monitoring & revising policies & procedures to ensure concerns & issues with current policies & procedures are addressed in a timely & effective fashion.Experience in evaluation of compliance issues, development of corrective action & plans in the attainment of compliance objectives.Familiarity with operational, financial & quality assurance, governance, risk management & HR procedures & regulations are a must. Competence & experience in reporting to & supporting senior management preferred. Leadership abilities reflective of the Spesmed Leadership Competencies.Current knowledge of medico-legal issues & laws,regulatory agency requirements and accreditation standards as they relate to medical staff.Co-ordinate the development &/or revision of departmental Rules & Regulations to ensure compliance with current practice, accreditation standards, the Medical Staff Bylaws as well as system-wide regulatory requirements.Strong interpersonal skills including teaching, coaching & mentoring skills. Complete understanding of operational and capital budget management.  Independent problem solving, conflict resolution & decision making abilities. Ability to remain calm under stress & work in an environment of frequent interruptions. Proficiency in computer use including hospital information systems.Knowledge of quality improvement procedures, principles & tools.
